Comas were one of the worst things that a doctor could deal with, in Gen's personal opinion. It made things difficult when taking care of her patient Lieutenant Tia Taylor. She could not ask how her patient was feeling and for some reason she couldn't even use her Betazoid abilities, as limited as they are compared to full Betazoids, to peek into Taylor's mind and see what hurts or what concerns she had. For some reason, it didn't work that way.

Over the time since finding the Lieutenant and first bringing her to Sickbay Gen was at least able to mend broken bones and other internal injuries. Right now, she had to keep the patient well-nourished while she waited for her to wake up on her own time. That was what she was supposed to do in this situation.

Gen met people she had never seen before on the Dauntless -- must have been different shifts or something -- on the Horizon and ironically she was once again sharing a room with her old room-mate T'Espera, who now had a daytime shift in the security department. Not that Gen could complain, mind you; sharing a room with someone who was nearly unemotional by both brain and appearance was preferable to sharing a room with someone who was emotionally breaking down from the inside out. It seemed like the whole station was like that because that's all Gen ever 'heard' through her Betazoid blood. Every day after her shift was a relief.

Geez, she thought. I can't wait for this day to be over.

Gen noticed two women, a human woman and an Edenian -- don't see many of their kind around it seemed to Gen -- coming into Sickbay. She raised her eyebrows as she noticed both were had a feeling of unease. She let out a brief tired sigh before approaching them with her professional "Doctor's mask" on her face.

"Hello there," she greeted with as much of a personality as she was willing to muster -- she was really tired. "I'm Dr. Hagen and welcome to Sickbay. What can I do for you?"

"Doctor we understand one of our friends is here. I wonder if we could see them."

Gen sighed. "Yes, I believe I could arrange that." They were studying her, Gen realized. "Just please let me know who it is that you're here to see."

The two women looked nervous, and that was accompanied by their unease in mental activity. "Lt Taylor, I. I'm the reason she was even on Horizon in the first place," one said dryly.

Gen's face fell. "Taylor... oh yes." She sighed. "Of course, follow me. I need to tell you some things about her," she said as she began to lead them to where the Lieutenant was currently residing. "Your friend has suffered some injuries..." Gen went on to carefully explain what happened to Taylor while the two women were quiet and listened to everything. The human was feeling genuine guilt for her condition; the half-Betazoid could detect it all too easily. It only became more defined when they finally arrived at Taylor's bedside.

"Doctor could my friend have a moment alone with her?"

The inquiry took Gen off guard, but she immediately agreed. "Yes, of course. Come and find me if you have any further questions."
